Does an external hard drive exist which has RAID, NAS and USB connectivity? - external usb raid
Hello,
I am looking for an external hard drive with a capacity of 1TB, 500 GB, which can be connected to a PC via USB 2.0 or NAS (network).
The hard drive has RAID-1, and means capable of at least 2 disks.
This is for domestic use, if Im not have everything in a rack. It must be something that can be placed on a desk.
Who knows if this is not it? I'd have a look at the common brands (Netgear, Western Digital, LaCie, LaCie, etc.), but apparently all products with only two of the three requirements (RAID, NAS and USB) port.
Thank you for your help.
A.

I think I read something very similar to what is left after the end of 2007 - mid 2008. Could one adapted for personal use?
Well, an expensive product, but the alternative would be rich Synology DS-207. Here are the features in brief:
Product Synology Disk Station (DS-207)
Abstract Byodo Dual SATA RAID-1 NAS with Active Directory and AFP support.
Benefits • LAMP server (HTTP, PHP and MySQL)
• UPnP AV Media, iTunes, Real estate and USB Print Server
• Built-in BitTorrent, HTTP, FTP download service
• Gigabit Ethernet with 4K and 8K Jumbo Frame support
Cons • iTunes server is not compatible with Apple's DRM
• You can adjust the volume produced
• an increase in volume only support, RAID1
I'm going through a revision in the hardware section SmallNetBuilder Tom's which should really be read, if you to buy a good NAS. One thing that I can not imagine that this rule is if the USB ports for additional units, print servers, or you can go directly to a PC, the path is. Looking for a little bit on this before you buy. Good luck.
